The InvestBulgaria Agency has handed its top prize, the Golden Bull, to Sensata Technologies Bulgaria at the Investor of the Year 2016 awards ceremony. Sensata Technologies Bulgaria is a member of the Automotive Cluster Bulgaria since August 2014.
The company has been on the Bulgarian market since 2011 and in 2016 has invested about 90 million leva (46 million euro) in the country and has more than 3000 jobs created since then. Sensata has business center in Sofia and production plants in Botevgrad and Plovdiv and produces high-added-value sensor systems and subsystems for almost every world automobile manufacturer. Its clients include Volkswagen, Daimler, Volvo, Fiat Chrysler Group and General Motors. With its second manufacturing plant in Plovdiv (started working 2016) now Bulgaria is the third-largest location of Sensata in the world.
Sensata Technologies Bulgaria has competed with over 60 companies from every field of the economy, the information technologies and health services, nominated by ministries, district administrations and municipalities.

The top prize for investment in human capital also went to a member of Automotive Cluster Bulgaria – Integrated Micro-Electronics Bulgaria (located in Botevgrad), which is manufacturing electronics, electro-mechanical systems and sub-systems for the automotive sector. In 2016 the company has expanded and optimized its production capacities. Integrated Micro Electronics has been on the Bulgarian market since 1997. It has 7.6 million leva invested so far and also created 400 jobs.
