Treble victory for Renault at Fleet World’s Great British Fleet Awards 2025

Images are for editorial use only. Renault Master named ‘Large Van of the Year’ and ‘Van of the Year’ at Fleet World’s Great British Fleet Awards 2025 Renault 5 E-Tech electric wins ‘Best Compact EV’ category, drawing praise for its “standout looks” and fun-to-drive character Renault Master impresses with thoughtful design, aerodynamic efficiency, and generous specification Renault Master available from £33,500 plus VAT or £37,500 plus VAT after PiVG for the E-Tech electric versions Renault 5 E-Tech electric starts from only £22,995 OTR Renault has scored a hat-trick of victories at Fleet World’s Great British Fleet Awards 2025, after the Renault Master carried away two accolades – ‘Large Van of the Year’ and ‘Van of the Year’ – while the Renault 5 E-Tech electric was crowned ‘Best Compact EV’. Both drew praise from the judges for their thoughtful and appealing design – inside and out – while the fleet-focused title further highlighted the Renault Master’s efficiency and generous specification. The Renault Master won its accolades for demonstrating its appeal for fleet operators and drivers alike, regardless of how it is powered. Designed to go further, carry more and cost less, it is available in a range of versions spanning load spaces of 11 to 20 cubic metres, with a 40mm wider opening at the sliding side door and 100mm longer load capacity. Declaring the Renault Master ‘Large Van of the Year’, John Kendall, Editor at Van Fleet World, said: “Renault is undergoing a transformation in both its car and commercial vehicle ranges. The new Master went on sale recently, offering electric or two-litre diesel power with aerodynamic design extending electric range and MPG. It looks good and drives well. In the cab there is extensive storage space, a 10-inch touchscreen in the dashboard, while digital instruments will be available this year. Two trim levels provide comprehensive spec even for entry-level Advance models. Renault has produced a strong competitor in the large van sector designed for the electric future as well as current diesel rivals.” As the Renault Master was awarded the overall title of ‘Van of the Year’, Kendall continued: “Renault took us by surprise late in 2023 when it unveiled the new Master. We were expecting a facelift, but the new model was launched at Solutrans in Lyon that year. The bold new exterior is matched by a new interior, while comprehensive equipment means drivers are well provided for regardless of the trim level chosen. Diesel and electric variants are good to drive, while it offers a competitive payload and load space. The aerodynamic design should help to keep total cost of ownership down. All you need in a large van is here.” On selecting the Renault 5 E-Tech electric as the winner in the ‘Best Compact EV’ category, John Challen, Editor at Fleet World, described the Renault 5 as “one of the most eagerly-awaited vehicles – let alone EVs – for a very long time. And also a triumphant return for an iconic model name in motoring. The Renault 5 injects a massive dose of fun into driving, from its standout looks and the clever lighting cues to a well thought-out interior. Decent driving range is a big plus, too.” Available in five versions across three trim levels, with a 40kWh urban range battery and 120hp or a 52kWh comfort range battery and 150hp for a range of up to 252 miles (WLTP), the Renault 5 E-Tech electric offers comfortable seating for five as well as a practical 326-litre boot, complete with dedicated storage for charging cables. Justin Costello, Head of Fleet at Renault Group, said: “These latest awards are a fantastic recognition of the appeal our new product line-up has for fleet buyers. Whether it’s an all-electric hatchback or the most versatile large van on the market, Renault has a solution for fleets and businesses of all sizes.” The Renault Master is available from £33,500 plus VAT or £37,500 plus VAT after PiVG for the E-Tech electric versions, while the Renault 5 E-Tech electric starts from only £22,995 OTR. Its silhouette pays homage to the original, yet the refined proportions and newly introduced design cues clearly distinguish it as a next-generation interpretation” comments Simon Dearn, Founder of Urban Automotive. Key upgrades include flared carbon fibre front and rear arches, a restyled carbon fibre front bumper with honeycomb mesh inserts and carbon fibre front splitter to add robustness and a striking presence to the vehicle’s front end. The ultra-light, vented bullnose bonnet overlay with the official UA badge and carbon fibre light bar completes the front-end redesign. At the rear the Honeycomb Mesh inserts are mirrored in the restyled bumper with additional carbon fibre diffuser and tow cover. A special feature are the flat-faced, premium Urban-Vossen UV-7 23-inch alloy wheels which are made by hand in Miami exclusively for the Widetrack. Aero Kit: in detailThe redefined Aero Kit, a dynamic revision of Urban’s outgoing ‘Soft Kit’ offers a more subtle styling option. Designed for owners seeking a sharper and more elegant appearance without increasing the vehicle’s width, the Aero Kit provides a clean, lightweight design that fits seamlessly with the vehicle’s original lines. It features the same vented bullnose bonnet overlay, carbon fibre roof light cluster, rear spoiler, and Urban-branded wheel carrier as the Widetrack —offering clients extensive personalisation while maintaining a slimmer profile. Optional upgrades include carbon fibre bumper overriders, wing mirrors, and bumper intake trims. Masters of Carbon FibreAll components are designed and manufactured in-house at Urban Automotive’s Milton Keynes facility using premium-grade carbon fibre to deliver lightweight durability, better fuel efficiency, and precision fitment. This hands-on approach ensures consistent quality and exceptional craftsmanship throughout every build. “Advancements in design methodology have enabled significant improvements in both fit and finish, aligning the Widetrack with a premium OEM-standard aesthetic. This evolution is reflected in the use of elevated materials—including extended carbon fibre detailing, billet aluminium exhaust finishers, and finely engineered mesh elements across the front, rear, and signature bullnose hood attachment” adds Simon. In addition to enhancing visual appeal, these parts also support long-term value retention — with Urban-equipped G-Wagons achieving, on average, up to 14% higher resale values. Pricing and availabilityThe Aero Kit and Widetrack kit are now available to order via Urban Automotive and its international distributor network. Customers can choose between a stock of existing vehicles available from Urban or supply their own car for transformation. Both styling programmes for the W465 G-Wagon are available across three ICE variants, G63 (4 Litre V8 Turbo), G500 (3 Litre 6 Cylinder Turbo) and G450d (3 Litre 6 Cylinder Turbodiesel), all featuring a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, Urban offers retrofitting options for earlier G-Wagon models. For information on Urban Automotive, visit www.urban-automotive.co.uk or call 01908 978978. Ends. View the listing here: collectingcars.com/for-sale/2004-ferrari-enzo-2 LONDON, 9 MAY, 2025:Collecting Cars, the globally recognised online auction platform for enthusiast and collector vehicles, has launched bidding on one of the most iconic hypercars of the 21st century – a 2004 Ferrari Enzo, certified by Ferrari Classiche and finished in the marque’s signature Rosso Corsa. A rare UK-delivered example showing fewer than 15,000 miles from new, it has already attracted a bid in excess of £1.65 million, with four days remaining before the auction concludes. With only a handful of UK-market cars ever delivered, and even fewer offered publicly, this presents a landmark opportunity for collectors seeking provenance, rarity and prestige. Delivered via Meridien Modena in Hampshire in 2004 and retained by its current keeper for nearly two decades, this Enzo is presented in impressive condition with a comprehensive service record. Its matching-numbers 6.0-litre F140B V12 engine is paired with Ferrari’s six-speed F1-style automated manual gearbox, delivering 651 bhp and a 0–62 mph time of just 3.1 seconds. The most recent service was completed by Autofficina in June 2024, with its last MOT certificate issued in July 2024. Inside, carbon-fibre racing seats are trimmed in Nero leather with Rosso centre panels and embossed ‘Cavallino’ emblems, complemented by Rosso leather detailing across the dash and steering wheel. The cabin features extensive visible carbon-fibre, including factory-fit Rosso leather on the steering wheel centre – reportedly seen on just two of the 277 Rosso Corsa examples. Rosso dials, carbon paddles and LED shift lights complete the purposeful, F1-inspired interior. Externally, the car rides on twin-spoke 19-inch BBS alloy wheels refinished in a darker silver, over carbon-ceramic brakes. The lower bodywork has also been refinished in matching Rosso Corsa, replacing the original black finish for a more cohesive aesthetic. Certified by Ferrari Classiche in 2016, the car is accompanied by its red book and original handbook pack. Even though some damage was sustained early in its life, it was swiftly and fully repaired by Ferrari’s official bodyshop, Carrozzeria Zanasi Maranello. The Enzo remains mechanically original, with all work documented as part of its official provenance. Originally launched in 2002 as a tribute to the company’s founder and a showcase of Formula 1-derived technology, the Enzo followed the F40 and F50 in Ferrari’s halo car lineage and was the final model to feature a naturally aspirated V12 without hybrid assistance. Its carbon fibre tub, pushrod suspension, active aerodynamics and stripped-back interior made it one of the most advanced and visceral supercars of its time. Drawing directly from Ferrari’s era of F1 dominance, the Enzo was designed to celebrate technical leadership while delivering a pure, high-revving driving experience – a marked contrast to the hybrid and turbocharged hypercars that followed. Commenting on the auction, Edward Lovett, Founder and CEO of Collecting Cars, said: “The Enzo is one of the most important Ferraris of the modern era – a car that captured the spirit of early 2000s Formula 1 and marked the end of Ferrari’s analogue flagship lineage. It even laid the groundwork for the track-only FXX programme that followed. For collectors, the chance to acquire a UK-delivered, Classiche-certified car with this level of provenance and originality is exceptionally rare, and a reminder of the Enzo’s lasting significance in Ferrari’s story. With bidding already off to a strong start, I’d advise anyone seriously interested not to wait!” With the officially quoted total of 400 examples produced – the 400th car off the production line intended to be gifted to the late Pope John Paul II – the Enzo remains one of the most exclusive and important Ferraris of the modern era. With many now held in long-term private collections and seldom offered for public sale, especially in the UK, this particular example stands out thanks to its low mileage, Ferrari Classiche certification and long-term single ownership. From Rod Stewart’s Ferrari F50 to Eric Clapton’s bespoke 612 Scaglietti One to One, Collecting Cars is no stranger to the iconic Italian marque, having sold nearly 1,000 Ferrari models worldwide. The auction for this special UK registered Ferrari Enzo will conclude on Tuesday 13 May. Images are for editorial use only. Volkswagen’s all-electric ID. Buzz Cargo scooped ‘EV Van of the Year’ for a third year running, praised for its iconic design and enhanced range of options The all-new Transporter secured ‘Medium Van of the Year’ thanks to its impressive space and payload that make it a versatile workhorse The annual awards, held in Milton Keynes last night, celebrate excellence in fleet management, products and services Milton Keynes, UK, 9 May 2025 – Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles had a successful visit to the Great British Fleet Awards 2025, claiming the title for ‘Medium Van of the Year’ with the all-new Transporter, as well as a third consecutive ‘EV Van of the Year’ title, with the ID. Buzz Cargo. Judged by an expert panel of editors, Fleet News’ Great British Fleet Awards celebrate excellence in the industry, from fleet management to products and services, with the winners announced at the annual awards ceremony in Milton Keynes last night. The multi-award-winning ID. Buzz Cargo earned its latest accolade for its iconic design and the new and enhanced range of options available, with a version suited to every fleet. This includes the newly-launched entry-level 59kWh variant, alongside 4MOTION all-wheel drive versions, and the standard 79kWh ID. Buzz Cargo. Commenting on the ID. Buzz Cargo and its third consecutive win, John Kendall, Editor at Van Fleet World, said: “With Chinese manufacturers launching into the UK LCV market this year, the competition in the electric van sector is hotting up. For this year though, the ID. Buzz Cargo retains our EV Van of the Year title, thanks to its expanded range and head-turning design. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has introduced a lower priced entry level model, which should be more attractive to fleet users. As we noted last year, the simple instrumentation and clean cab design is shared with the VW ID. electric car range. A 276-mile range on a full charge helps to add to its appeal.” Taking home the title of ‘Medium Van of the Year’, the all-new Transporter is the ultimate tool for professionals. Praised for its practicality as an everyday workhorse, the seventh-generation Transporter boasts an impressive 6.8m3 load volume, 1.2-tonne payload and 2.8-tonne towing capacity. With variants including a Panel Van, Kombi, Shuttle and double-cab, in addition to a choice of powertrain and wheelbase, and a selection of highly-specified trims, the judges also celebrated the variety of the Transporter line-up, designed to suit a wide range of business requirements.1 John Kendall adds: “Transit Custom was our winner last year, joined in 2025 by the recently launched seventh-generation Volkswagen Transporter. The Volkswagen offers more load space, payload and towing capacity than its predecessor. Both offer comprehensive specifications. There are two lengths and two roof heights and a range of passenger carrying models from both Ford and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Both are good to drive and offer a range of power options.” Craig Cavanagh, National Fleet Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, adds: “We’re thrilled to be recognised with not one, but two titles at the prestigious Great British Fleet Awards, and especially proud to retain the EV Van title once again. This also marks our first award win for our all-new Transporter, which went on sale earlier this year, and it’s been great to see the positive response its received since its launch.” For more details on Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ award-winning range of products and services, visit www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk. (ends) Notes to Editors1Initially available as a Panel Van, first customer deliveries are expected in April 2025, with Kombi and Shuttle variants to follow in Spring 2025; double-cab variants to complete the line-up in late 2025. About Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles:Over 70 years ago, the first Transporter arrived in the UK, creating a blueprint which others would follow: a van which gets the job done efficiently and reliably. Today, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers a diverse model range of commercial as well as passenger carrying and lifestyle models – from the compact Caddy, the new Transporter and sturdy Crafter panel vans, dropsides and tippers, through the Multivan passenger carrier, and Caddy California, new California and Grand California campervans, to the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo all-electric models, and the Amarok. The vehicles are as versatile and dependable as Volkswagens have always been, but the range is now wider, and more connected, modern and safer than ever.
