Broad Arrow presents stunning and un-raced Jaguar D-type at inaugural Zürich Auction

One of only 71 Jaguar D-Types produced Rare example that has never been used in competitive motorsport Matching engine and chassis numbers Meticulously cared for by current Swiss owner for past three decades Highly desirable Jaguar D-Type will be one of the highlights of Broad Arrow Zürich Auction in partnership with Auto Zürich on 1 November D-Type estimated to bring CHF 5’250’000 – 6’250’000 London, England (12 August 2025) – Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, is proud to offer one of the most pristine examples of the iconic Jaguar D-Type at its inaugural Zürich Auction this November. One of only 71 produced, Chassis XKD 551 is a rare short-nose version of the D-Type and one of the last to have been manufactured. Its desirability is undeniable and further enhanced by the fact that it has never been used in competition, which will undoubtedly generate intense interest among the international collector car community. The Jaguar D-Type will be a highlight of Broad Arrow’s Zürich Auction, which will be held in partnership with Auto Zürich at the world famous Dolder Grand hotel on Saturday 1 November 2025. “We are extremely honoured to have been granted the opportunity to offer this incredible Jaguar D-Type at our first Zürich Auction,” says Yves Boitel, Car Specialist, EMEA, at Broad Arrow Auctions. “The fact that this car has never been used competitively and has been meticulously cared for throughout its life, makes it one of the most exceptional D-Types in existence and one that will surely create great excitement among collectors.” Manufactured in 1956, chassis XKD 551 was sold to its first private owner in October 1957, who rather than heading to the nearest racetrack as many D-Types did, carefully converted it to semi-XKSS specification, removing the central bulkhead, adding a passenger door, and fitting a full-width windscreen. In 1963, ownership moved to Hon. James Dawnay, who famously owned and raced the Aston Martin DBR1/1. Motorsport provenance continued when it was sold to Australian Formula 1 driver Paul Hawkins. The 1970s saw another owner remove the XKSS-style modifications to return this highly collectible D-Type to its original configuration, and it eventually landed with its current Swiss owner in 1994. Prior to this, the original XK inline-six engine (no. E 2070-9) had been removed to ensure its preservation, with a correct specification engine fitted in its place. The new owner invested in a significant rebuild of the original engine, which continued to be preserved in storage for the next two decades. Recently, XKD 551 was reunited with its original engine, still fresh from its 2005 rebuild, and this incredible D-Type was treated to a service by the renowned Swiss specialists Graber Sportgarage in preparation for the sale. This extremely rare, un-raced example of the iconic Jaguar D-Type, complete with matching chassis and engine numbers, represents a remarkable opportunity for any discerning collector. It is also accompanied by previous FIA Historical Identity Form (1992), FIA Passport (2009) and FIVA Identity Card (2012), and is eligible for the world’s most celebrated historic racing events, including the Goodwood Revival, Silverstone Classic, Mille Miglia Storica, Le Mans Classic, Monaco Historic Grand Prix, and Spa Classic. “The excitement is building ahead of our inaugural Zürich Auction,” says Paul Gaucher, Head of Consignments for Switzerland at Broad Arrow Auctions. “The addition of this truly superb example of the iconic Jaguar D-Type will undoubtedly add to that excitement among international car collectors. There is plenty more to come and we can’t wait to share additional news on the highly desirable models that will be joining the catalogue soon.” Additional information on The Zürich Auction is available at broadarrowauctions.com. Collectors interested in consigning to or attending the auction are invited to speak with a Broad Arrow car specialist about this very special addition to the international collector car calendar. Polo is crowned Best Car of the Half Century

Images are for editorial use only. Major accolade for Volkswagen’s ever-popular supermini This year the Polo celebrates its 50th anniversary With 20 million sales over the course of six generations, the Polo is one of the world’s most successful small cars Milton Keynes – The Volkswagen Polo has been voted Best Car of the Half Century as part of the Best Cars of the Year – The New Car World Championships. The award was announced ahead of this year’s British Motor Show in recognition of the Polo’s 50th anniversary – echoing the same honour given to the Golf last year during its 50th birthday celebrations. The Polo is one of many cars taking centre stage at this year’s British Motor Show, which starts on Friday 15 August at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre. The judging panel for the award comprised independent world-renowned car designers, engineers, auto industry figureheads, motorsport personalities, journalists, broadcasters, media professionals, vehicle retailers, automotive consultants, motor club chiefs and motoring event organisers. Among them was automotive journalist Mike Rutherford, founder of the Best Cars of the Year – The New Car World Championships. “The 20 million motorists who have been buying Volkswagen Polos since 1975 cannot be wrong,” said Mike. “It’s the most consistently credible supermini of the past 50 years and has repeatedly hit the sweet spot in terms of understated design, overall dimensions, build quality, competitive retail pricing, efficiency and low standing and running costs. It’s super strong on overall affordability, durability and longevity. “And it’s fair to say that since the birth of the MK1 version in 1975, it has grown in size, stature, quality and market relevance. No longer is the Polo a basic supermini to be driven on tight, slow streets in busy towns and cities across the world. At more than four metres long in its current Mk6 guise, it’s more of a small, credible, borderline premium family hatchback. “No wonder it remained one of the top 20 best-selling cars in Europe last year.” With more than 20 million sales worldwide, the Polo is one of Volkswagen’s most successful cars to date, and it continues to stand for affordable mobility – a car for everyone. ‘Small but mighty’ is the perfect way to sum up the Polo, not just in terms of looks but also in its sporty credentials. In the World Rally Championship, the Polo R WRC has won an impressive four world titles. For everyday driving, the GT and G40 series have added excitement, while the GTI continues to deliver thrilling performance today. GEM welcomes the prospect of changes to driver eyesight regulations

Images are for editorial use only. Reform to the current regime is ‘long overdue’, says GEM It’s vital to reduce the number of people – of all ages – who drive with defective vision Any changes need to be communicated properly to road users Road safety and breakdown organisation GEM Motoring Assist welcomes the prospect of changes to current UK driver eyesight regulations. GEM has long campaigned for reforms to these rules, and has described recent proposals for compulsory eyesight tests as ‘long overdue’. However, the road safety organisation believes all drivers should be tested, not just those aged 70 or over. GEM is also urging the government to implement an ambitious, first-rate communications strategy alongside any legislative change. GEM’s head of road safety James Luckhurst said: “Regular eyesight tests would help protect all road users by identifying visual impairments that could compromise safe driving. “For too long we have relied on self-reporting of eyesight problems, and we welcome the prospect of this welcome shift toward proactive safety enforcement. Too many people – and not just those aged 70 or over – are driving with defective eyesight that has deteriorated to a dangerous level. “To reduce this risk, we want all licence holders to undergo a professional eye examination every two years as a matter of individual responsibility and public safety. “We believe that reform to driver eyesight rules shows a commitment to making the roads safer for everyone and has nothing to do with unfairly targeting people because of their age, or seeking to restrict anyone’s freedom. Mandatory eye tests are essential for everyone’s safety. “Let’s also ensure that details of these updates reach road users who don’t currently see road safety as relevant to them and bring the public on board to help change minds and behaviours which ultimately save lives. We need to ensure the communication mistakes made at the introduction of the Highway Code ‘hierarchy of road users’ in 2022 are not repeated.” Ends Notes for editors GEM Motoring Assist provides two levels of recovery service; Recovery EXTRA and Recovery RECLAIM, to suit all needs and pockets. GEM provides a comprehensive and competitively priced Roadside Assistance and Vehicle Recovery Service. GEM is a Which? Recommended Provider for Breakdown Services 2024. GEM was Highly Commended in the Personal Finance Awards in 2022, 2023 and 2024. GEM’s breakdown cover has also been awarded a 5-star rating by Defaqto, meaning GEM provides one of the highest quality offerings in the market. GEM Motoring Assist was established in 1932, as an independent driver-based road safety association. GEM’s aim is to improve safety for all road users through the sponsorship and initiation of accident prevention measures throughout the UK and to provide motoring and safety information to its own members. Member benefits include a quarterly magazine, free literature and advice and discounts on insurance and other services. Kia UK simplifies important Picanto and XCeed line-ups

Images are for editorial use only. Kia Picanto and XCeed move to three-tier model structure Both models offered in ‘Pure’, ‘GT-Line’ or ‘GT-Line S’ New structure echoes new Sportage, and will be repeated on most Kia ICE models going forward New Picanto and XCeed variants on sale now Kia has rationalised the line-ups for the Picanto and XCeed, two of its most popular internal combustion engine (ICE) models, to simplify the overall buying experience for customers. Similar to the brand’s EVs, the Picanto and XCeed move to an easily understandable three-grade line-up, consisting of a ‘Pure’ entry level, a ‘GT-Line’ mid-level and a ‘GT-Line S’ range topper. The new three-tier line-up for Picanto and XCeed replaces the earlier ‘2’, ‘GT-Line’, ‘3’ and ‘GT-Line S’ grade structure. Already introduced on the new Sportage, the new ‘Pure’ entry point to the Picanto and XCeed ranges merges the previous ‘2’ and ‘3’ grades. This change is based on customer demand for certain features, and makes the Kia line-up easier to navigate. ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ adopt the same sporty styling as ever, and a similar specification to before. Kia Picanto MY26: new trim levels, engine option and paint choices Picanto now offered in ‘Pure’, ‘GT-Line’ or ‘GT-Line S’ One engine with a choice of two transmissions New Yacht Blue premium paint option on ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ The Picanto has consistently held its position as one of Kia’s UK best-sellers over its 21-year lifespan. First launched in 2004, Kia’s smallest UK and European model has seen three all-new generations and four mid-life facelifts, most recently in July 2024. This also makes Picanto Kia’s third oldest nameplate still on sale in the UK, after the Sportage and Sorento. Proving its continued popularity, the Picanto is currently the second best-selling car in the A-segment year-to-date (and the best-seller to retail customers). The Picanto is also Kia’s second best-selling car in the UK so far in 2025, accounting for more than 12% of the brand’s overall sales. The first examples of the new model year 2026 (MY26) Picanto will be delivered to customers from September, with customers able to order from the new three-tier specification structure now: ‘Pure’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’. The Picanto is also available exclusively with a new 1.0-litre Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) petrol engine, producing 67bhp, with the option of a five-speed manual (5MT) or five-speed automated manual transmission (5AMT) on every trim level. Whereas the Picanto was previously available in a total of eight different variations, the new line-up of three trim levels and two transmissions brings the total number of Picanto variations down to six. The MY26 Picanto is also welcomes a new Yacht Blue premium paint option on ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ variants, meaning the Picanto is offered in a total of six premium paint options, costing £600 including VAT. All variants of Picanto are finished in Clear White as standard, with no additional cost. MY26 Kia Picanto ‘Pure’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5MT £16,695 ‘Pure’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5AMT £17,395 ‘GT-Line’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5MT £17,845 ‘GT-Line’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5AMT £18,545 ‘GT-Line S’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5MT £19,545 ‘GT-Line S’ 1.0 GDi 67bhp 5AMT £20,245 Kia XCeed MY26: simplified line-up, mild hybrid tech, and performance boost XCeed now offered in ‘Pure’, ‘GT-Line’ or ‘GT-Line S’ Improved entry-level specification Sportier 1.6-litre T-GDi engine offered on ‘GT-Line S’, producing 177bhp Reduction in CO2 and greater efficiency across the line-up New 1.0-litre powertrain now offers 48V mild hybrid assistance The Kia XCeed was first launched in July 2019, with a mid-life update in 2022. Alike the A-segment Picanto, the XCeed has proven popular in the UK in recent years. So far in 2025, the XCeed has accounted for almost 30% of overall Ceed family sales, and is a crucial part of Kia’s three-pronged approach in the C-SUV market, alongside the Sportage and Niro model family. The XCeed moves to the same three-tier structure as the Picanto, with ‘Pure’ merging the earlier ‘2’ and ‘3’ grades for a more generous specification at a value-for-money price point. The line-up progresses to ‘GT-Line’ and is topped by the ‘GT-Line S’ model. The new XCeed ‘Pure’ receives the following specification additions over the current entry-level ‘2’ variant: Electrically adjustable, folding and heated door mirrors with LED indicators Rain sensing front wipers Black cloth and artificial leather seat upholstery Electric driver’s seat lumbar support Electric one-touch front and rear windows Automatic air conditioning and defog system Auto-dimming rear view mirror Paddle shifters (DCT only) Drive mode select (eco, normal and sport) The MY26 XCeed also receives new engine options. The 1.5-litre Turbocharged-Gasoline Direct Injection (T-GDi) is replaced by the option of a more efficient 1.0-litre T-GDi on all grades, producing up to 113bhp and 200Nm torque. This new unit reduces CO2 output across the range by varying amounts, depending on trim level. The 1.0-litre T-GDi additionally improves the XCeed’s WLTP ‘Combined’ cycle efficiency on every variant. On the most popular XCeed ‘GT-Line’, for example, equipped with a six-speed manual transmission (6MT) CO2 output is reduced by 5g/km to 137g/km, and WLTP ‘Combined’ efficiency improves from 44.8 to 47mpg. Offering greater performance, the XCeed ‘GT-Line S’ is now offered with a new 1.6-litre T-GDi engine. The new unit produces up to 177bhp and 265Nm torque, and can power the XCeed from 0-to-62mph in 8.5 seconds, on to a top speed of 130mph. All XCeed variants are front wheel drive, and are all offered with the choice of a six-speed manual (6MT) or seven-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT), except for the ‘GT-Line S’, which is available exclusively with a 7DCT. In addition, the 1.0-litre T-GDi unit in the XCeed benefit from 48V ‘mild hybrid’ assistance, further improving economy and efficiency. Car Showroom Poet publishes debut book after life-changing coaching from Ben

Images are for editorial use only. Automotive industry charity, Ben, today reveals that a former car valuer turned performance poet, John Cassidy from Nottingham, has released his debut book of automotive-inspired poetry, parody and satire, following a transformative coaching journey. John, a talented writer and performer who is also neurodivergent, walked away from a dealership career in late 2024 after recognising his heart was no longer in it. Feeling increasingly detached and overwhelmed, he reached out to Ben for coaching at a pivotal moment in his life. Now known as The Car Showroom Poet, John’s new book marks a remarkable personal and professional rebirth, enabled by Ben’s tailored support. Through six coaching sessions, he gained the structure, belief and clarity needed to bring his creative ambitions to life. He was then able to break down overwhelming goals into manageable steps, completing a book manuscript and also prepared his one‑man show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025. The book, now on sale through Amazon, blends reflective memoir, poetry, parody, satire and the lived experience of working in the automotive industry. John said: “Reaching out to Ben felt like someone finally saw me and understood that my journey, although unconventional, was valid. Coaching helped me break my ambitions of writing a book into bite‑sized steps, turning inner chaos into real progress. “By the time we finished my final coaching session, I held a completed manuscript in my hands, ready for publishing. The process helped me refine my writing and helped me believe in myself – that I am a writer. Milltek employs state-of-the-art tech for its awesome new Audi RS4 B7 exhaust

Images are for editorial use only. Milltek introduces latest tech for its new (V2) Audi RS4 B7 ‘modern classic’ exhaust unit Modern silencer technology and active centre H-pipe added for big difference in sound when sports mode is on and off Milltek valves included with original valve control retained which can be activated with Sport mode button on steering wheel Oval exhaust tips (like original Audi system) available with choice of four finishes Previous system (V1) still available for owners needing an EC Approved system High grade T304L stainless steel Milltek exhausts have lifetime warranty Milltek has released an updated, state-of-the-art sports exhaust system for the Audi RS4 B7, with its much-loved 4.2-litre, 414bhp, naturally aspirated V8 engine. After a recent surge in sales of replacement sports exhausts for ‘modern classics’ like the Audi, Milltek’s engineers revisited the RS4’s system to incorporate more modern exhaust technology. This includes a modern silencer and, to bring it in line with the current Audi RS range, an active centre H-pipe (with vacuum-operated valve) has been introduced to create a more noticeable difference when the Sports mode is on or off. When Sport mode is off, the Active H-Pipe opens and lets the exhaust gasses from each bank mix. The rear valves close, sending the gasses through the rear silencers, which both dampen the sound. When Sport mode is on, however, the active H pipe valve closes and acts as two separate pipes – one for each bank – and the rear silencer valves open so the exhaust gasses take the path of least resistance, internally bypassing the silencers which gives the increase in sound. Better still, the existing Audi valve control is retained, ensuring the steering wheel’s Sport mode button functions properly but with the advantage of improved sound from the Milltek system. Like all Milltek exhausts, the RS4 B7 unit is made from high quality T304L Stainless Steel with a lifetime warranty applicable to the original purchaser. The system comes with everything required for installation. Other details include left and right centre resonators, silencers and valved outlets, plus rear brackets, but it doesn’t just sound incredible, it’s a fantastic design. With oval OE-style trims that come in a choice of four finishes – Polished Stainless, Cerakote Black Stainless, Brushed Titanium, Burnt Titanium – it looks the part. For RS4 owners in Europe who need an EC-Approved replacement system, the original (V1) system will still be available offering an enhanced tone within the noise limits set by the official approval standards. Technical Operations Manager at Milltek, Kev Hall, said: “Everyone has a soft spot for the RS4 B7 as it was one of the first Audis that felt so dynamically competent with a V8 engine that desperately needed to be heard, which is why it is a perfect car for a Milltek exhaust system to enhance its sound and performance delivery. “I’d describe it as a Jekyll and Hyde exhaust: with Sport mode off it is silky smooth and subtle, then with Sport mode on everything opens up and you really get the full sound of the exhaust as the rear valves open and the active centre closes, and vice versa with it off. It’s very similar tech to what we offer on the latest factory Audi RS models.” Full details of Milltek’s range of exhausts from ‘modern classics’ to the latest pick-ups, vans and off-roaders, plus dealers are available at www.millteksport.com. -End- AboutFounded in the UK in 1983 by a true car enthusiast, Milltek has grown to become a global, leading manufacturer of performance exhaust systems for a continually expanding range of vehicles.
