- Motorsport and technology specialist Prodrive sponsors award
- Award recognises Guild members writing about or competing in motorsport
- Trophy and cash prize to be presented at gala dinner in December
There is just a week left for Guild of Motoring Writers members working in motorsport to enter this year’s Prodrive Motorsport Award.
The Award, which recognises an outstanding achievement by a Guild member in the world of motorsport either writing about or competing in motorsport at any level, carries an additional significance this year as its sponsor, Banbury-based but globally renowned motorsport and technology specialist Prodrive, celebrates its 40th year in the sport.
The award winner will receive a £500 cash prize as well as a trophy, presented at the Guild’s annual Dinner at the RAC Club, Pall Mall in December.
In 2023 the Award was won by Maurice Hamilton, who received his award from Prodrive Motorsport’s Business Development Manager, Richard Taylor.
The judges gave top marks to Maurice, twice a previous winner of this award, for his brilliantly-written, cautionary and timely analysis of Ford as the brand prepares to step back into F1 racing.
Also Highly Commended were members Indira Flack for her photographic work and Guy Loveridge for his commentary at historic motorsport events.
The Prodrive Award is one of 14 categories available to enter in this year’s Guild Awards, with cash prizes and trophies on offer.
The period for submitting entries will last until midnight on Monday 30th September and, following judging, finalists will be announced in November.
Guild judges will select from up to three submissions per entry, with the best single piece of work from three entrants selected to make up the finalists of each category.
