London, 31 July 2025
After a year of record-breaking growth, Chery Group climbs 152 places on the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list and is now ranked 233rd, as the company continues to strengthen its position in key global markets. This latest recognition highlights the Group’s robust performance worldwide, built on investment in technology, new energy vehicles (NEV) and an expanding international presence.

In the first half of 2025, Chery Group delivered 1.26 million vehicles worldwide – an increase of 14.5% compared with the same period last year. Of these, 550,000 were exported, meaning that on average, a Chery-built vehicle was sold overseas every 29 seconds. Strong growth in NEV has been a major contributor to this performance: in just 6 months, sales of hybrid and electric models reached 360,000 units, almost doubling year-on-year. These results underline Chery Group’s global strength, combining export experience with rapid progress in electrified and efficient powertrains.

The Group’s youngest brand, OMODA&JAECOO, has become one of its biggest success stories. Since launch just over 2 years ago, it has achieved more than 570,000 sales across 44 countries – making it the fastest emerging automotive brand to reach the half-million mark. With hybrid and electric models now accounting for more than half of its sales, OMODA&JAECOO’s contribution to the Group has grown rapidly, rising from 21% of total export volume in 2023 to 37% in 2025, marking a 76% growth.

As part of its international expansion, July also marks the introduction of the CHERY brand to the UK. The new CHERY TIGGO 7 and CHERY TIGGO 8 will join the line-up from September, broadening the Group’s portfolio in the market and introducing UK-based drivers to a new choice in practical, technology-rich SUVs. Earlier in July, the CHERY TIGGO 8 Super Hybrid made its UK public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it appeared in the First Glance paddock ahead of first deliveries later this summer.

Gary Lan, CEO of CHERY UK, said: “Our rise in the Fortune Global 500 reflects the strength of Chery Group’s global strategy. With strong results across established markets, the rapid growth of OMODA&JAECOO, and the launch of new brands and technologies, we are committed to driving forward the next phase of international expansion. Investment in innovation, new energy solutions and global partnerships remains at the heart of our future plans, and with new markets such as the UK now part of our network, our international growth continues to accelerate.”

Chery Group’s rapid growth demonstrates a long-term commitment to innovation, electrification and international markets. From consistently achieving a place on the Fortune Global 500 list, to maintaining a leading position in overseas sales and delivering rapid growth in the NEV sector, the Group continues to set new benchmarks for high-quality development and to strengthen the global competitiveness of Chinese automotive brands.
