- Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service Expands Fleet with 21 Škoda Kodiaqs
- The vehicles will serve as flexible duty officer transport for operational incidents
- Kodiaqs were selected for their spacious interiors, especially the versatile boot space, with turnkey conversion from an approved Škoda converter
Milton Keynes, 25 June 2024 – Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue has bolstered its fleet by adding new Kodiaq SUVs. These vehicles are ready for service thanks to a Škoda-approved converter.
The newly acquired Kodiaqs mark the first time this model is being used by the fire service. Equipped with a 2.0-litre TDI engine delivering 200 PS, DSG transmission, and all-wheel drive, these SUVs offer both performance and efficiency.
These Škoda Kodiaqs will be utilized across various functions but primarily for transporting flexible duty officers to operational incidents like road traffic collisions or hazardous material situations.
Converted by Pressfab EVO Limited—an approved specialist—the cars meet specific requirements such as practical load areas equipped with grilles and fire extinguishing apparatuses. They also feature blue lights and integrated communications equipment.
Colin Carter, Fleet Operations Manager at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service:“We chose the Kodiaq mainly because of its ample interior space. The large boot can accommodate all necessary equipment for our flexible duty officers. Having them converted before delivery simplifies getting these vehicles into service.”
Škoda offers emergency fleets—including Ambulance, Police, Fire & Rescue teams—a range of customizable options through bespoke converters. This includes integrating communication platforms within infotainment systems along with comprehensive lighting solutions tailored to individual needs via approved specialists.
