- BBB Fireworks has won the British Firework Championships 2024, becoming the first bonfire society to do so.
- The two-day event saw over 100,000 spectators gather in Plymouth to witness the finest firework displays in the UK.
- Isuzu UK dealer, Culverwells, supported the triumphant team with two Isuzu D-Max pick-ups and sponsored team shirts.
Battle Bonfire Boyes (BBB Fireworks), sponsored by Culverwells Isuzu, was crowned winner of the British Firework Championships 2024, taking place on the 14th and 15th August in Plymouth. This year marked a momentous occasion for the competition as BBB Fireworks was the first bonfire society to be invited to the competition, and now the first to win it.
The British Firework Championships, established in 1997, is the UK’s most prestigious fireworks competition. Six professional display companies performed 10-minute shows in front of a panel of judges and over 100,000 spectators, vying for the title of British Champions, a trophy, and prize money.
With each of the six teams’ 10-minute display being fired from the Mountbatten Breakwater and judged based on their technical flair and ‘big-bang wow factor’, the Culverwells Isuzu sponsored BBB Fireworks emerged victorious.
Culverwells provided the BBB Fireworks team with two Isuzu D-Max pick-ups to assist in transporting crew and equipment to the competition using its 3.5-tonne towing capacity and 1-tonne payload. One of these vehicles is the dealership’s demonstration vehicle, fitted with multiple ARB accessories, including an awning that was particularly useful during the setup phase. Additionally, Culverwells sponsored the team shirts, proudly branding them with the dealership’s logo.
Following the success of the competition victory, BBB Fireworks is set to partake in many more events with the backing of Culverwells and Isuzu as title sponsors.
Marc Jones, Sales Manager at Culverwells and member of the BBB Fireworks team, said: “We are immensely excited and proud to confirm that we have won the coveted British Firework Championships. Our partnership with this fantastic team reflects the ‘Driven To Do’ attitude of Isuzu and our dedication to supporting the superb work that BBB Fireworks do. We truly put on a show out there, and it’s a privilege to be awarded with the victory!”
George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, commented: “On behalf of Isuzu UK, we would like to congratulate BBB Fireworks for lighting up the British Firework Championships. Rocketing to No.1, the team did themselves, Culverwells, and the Isuzu brand proud.”
Culverwells, an Isuzu dealer since 1987, is deeply rooted in the local community, supporting various initiatives. In addition to its support for BBB Fireworks, the East-Sussex dealership sponsors Robertsbridge Football team and participate in local fundraising events, such as the BBB 10K road race in September and the main Bonfire and Firework night in Battle.
