FJ Chalke & Vale Motors Isuzu is excited to sponsor local resident John Binding as he competes in the World Sleddog Dryland Championship in November 2024. A member of The Alaskan Malamute Working Association (AMWA), John will represent our community on this global stage.
The AMWA-hosted event expects participants from over 20 countries, showcasing hundreds of sled dogs’ athleticism and teamwork.
In June, Ross Fowler and Jordan from FJ Chalke & Vale Motors Isuzu attended John’s dry run at Henstridge Airfield. Accompanied by the robust Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35, they witnessed firsthand the power and intelligence of these remarkable dogs.
Ross Fowler remarked on their experience saying, “The dogs were incredibly intelligent and powerful. Their size can be intimidating but they are beautiful creatures with nothing to fear. It was an eye-opening experience.”
John explained how dry runs work using a three-wheeled cart called a rig pulled by harnessed dogs via voice commands. For smaller teams, scooters or mountain bikes may also be used for pulling purposes.
He emphasized that his dogs love working in harnesses stating, “They get very excited and noisy when ready to go. Stopping them can be challenging but it’s all about understanding your team’s capabilities.”
The Isuzu Arctic Trucks AT35 enhances its predecessor’s features with larger tires and advanced suspension while maintaining comfort through luxury amenities like dual-zone climate control and premium leather upholstery among others.
Both Malamutes’ raw power alongside human-engineered excellence embodied by AT35 symbolize unmatched strength committed towards conquering extremes together.
