Modena, 19 September 2024 – Change in Maserati Corse senior management effective from 1 October 2024.
Maserati wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Giovanni Sgro for leading the brand’s sporting activities with great commitment and dedication for the last two years.
Sgro was tasked with bringing Maserati back into its natural environment, the track, and directed all operations relating to theABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the Fanatec GT2 European Series. From day one, Giovanni also worked on the development and launch of the exclusive Maserati MCXtrema halo car.
As of 1 October 2024, Maria Conti will become Head of Maserati Corse, reporting directly to Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO and operationally to Jean-Marc Finot, Senior VP, Stellantis Motorsport.
Maria Conti has over 20 years’ experience in communication in the automotive and lifestyle sector in the international arena.
Previously, she held the position of Chief Communication Officer for the House of the Trident, after a professional career at iconic, premium and luxury brands.
Now, on her return from maternity leave, Maria Conti is the first woman to head Maserati’s motorsport activities.
Cars and communication form part of her DNA: its watchwords include expertise, creativity and plenty of enthusiasm, which she will also bring between the kerbs as she helps to renew the brand’s competitive spirit.
