Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N Sets Record at Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Electric SUV Categories

SEOUL, June 24, 2024 – Hyundai Motor Company announced today that its IONIQ 5 N models successfully completed the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) on June 23. The event saw new records set for both Electric Modified and Production SUV/Crossover categories.

Hyundai participated in this year’s PPIHC with two IONIQ 5 N TA (Time Attack) Specs and one production model. All three tackled a grueling course spanning over12.42 miles (20 km), ascending more than4,700 feet(1,438 meters), navigating156 turns under unpredictable weather conditions.

The IONIQ 5 N TA Spec driven by Dani Sordo finished at09:30.852,securing victory in the exhibition class.Randy Pobst piloted another TA Spec to finish at09:55.551.

Designed to emphasize the strengths of the production-spec model without major modifications,theIONIQ 5 N TAspec features minor software tuning for increased motor output1, along with high-performance parts like new shock absorbers,motorsport-spec brakes,and slick tires2..
