WWCOTY Marks International Women Drivers’ Day on June 24th, Highlighting Concerns Over Road Aggression. A recent survey shows that 78% of women drivers view road aggression as a significant issue.
June 2024 – Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) commemorates International Women Drivers’ Day by spotlighting women’s perspectives on driving behavior. A survey conducted by Czech online magazine Zena v aute.cz reached out to 1,485 female drivers globally through an online questionnaire. The findings reveal that 78% of women consider road aggression a serious problem, with 69% noting an increase in such behavior.
The survey was executed in May 2024 across 20 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Columbia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy New Zealand Pakistan Poland Serbia Spain Switzerland UK and USA. Platforma Vize0 served as the expert advisor for this study.
“We analyzed how women feel behind the wheel and their fears,” says Sabina Kvášová from WWCOTY and editor-in-chief at Zena v aute.cz. “The results are remarkable.”

Country-specific concerns vary significantly; aggressive driving is most concerning for respondents from the USA (82%), Spain (31%), and Poland (38%). Accidents worry those from Italy (51%), Poland(35%),and Germany(31%). Reduced visibility is mainly a concern for UK(52%),Germany(50%),and Polish(20%).
A majority of women worldwide sporadically encounter aggressive behavior while driving—55%, according to Sabina Kvasova from WWCOTY.
