Iron Dames Set to Return for 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed After Thrilling Debut and Hill Run

25.06.2024

After their debut at the renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 2022 and an impressive run up the iconic 1.86-kilometre Hill in 2023, the Iron Dames are set to return for the 2024 edition of this prestigious motorsport event.

This year, they will be driving the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 up the Hill for its first appearance. Michelin Le Mans Cup drivers Célia Martin and Karen Gaillard will pilot this car, which has already secured a pole position and podium finish in 2024, most recently competing at Road to Le Mans on Circuit de la Sarthe.

Additionally, rally duo Sarah Rumeau and Julie Amblard will navigate their Ford Fiesta Rally2 through Goodwood’s thrilling Forest Rally Stage. This marks their inaugural participation in this celebrated event.

The theme for the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed is ‘Horseless to Hybrid: Revolutions in Power’, commemorating 130 years since the world’s first motor race. The vehicles driven by Iron Dames embody this evolution – from turbocharged engines like that of the Fiesta to V10 powerhouses like the Huracán – showcasing significant advancements in automotive technology and motorsport.

As a groundbreaking initiative itself, Iron Dames epitomizes what makes this festival unique by highlighting progress while honoring past innovations that have paved the way for current developments.

The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is scheduled from Thursday, July 11th to Sunday, July 14th. The event will be livestreamed on Goodwood’s YouTube channel.
