Kia EV4 Fastback: UK pricing and specifications announced

Images are for editorial use only. EV4 offered with saloon ‘Fastback’ bodystyle Kia’s most aerodynamic EV ever made, with an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.23CD Two-grade ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ line-up ‘GT-Line’ 81.4kWh from £40,895 (up to 380 miles of range) ‘GT-Line S’ 81.4kWh from £45,395 (up to 380 miles of range) Order books open with customer deliveries starting in autumn Kia has today revealed UK pricing and specifications for the EV4 Fastback, a four-door saloon-bodied sibling to the EV4, for which pricing and specifications were announced on 1 July. The EV4 Fastback starts from £40,895 on-the-road (OTR), offering a range of up to 380 miles on a single charge*, and is available exclusively in ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ trims. The EV4 represents the electrification of yet another important vehicle segment in the UK by Kia, as the brand introduces its first ever electric saloon car. The brand’s first ever four-door electric car, the Fastback is based on Kia’s highly acclaimed EV architecture, adapted for the EV4’s low profile and compact bodystyle. Powertrain, performance and aerodynamicsBoth the Kia EV4 Fastback ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ are offered solely with the 81.4kWh long range battery pack, offering a range of 380 miles on a single charge. The Fastback, alike its hatchback sibling, is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor applying 150kW (201bhp) and 283Nm torque through the front wheels. The EV4 Fastback offers spritely performance, and is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in as little as 7.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 105mph. The EV4 Fastback has been designed with aerodynamic efficiency in mind. Active Air Flaps in the front bumper open automatically to optimise cooling efficiency and maximise aerodynamic performance. 82.5% of the car’s underside is covered by a near full body undercover, further boosting its slippery shape. These measures, combined with swooping, smooth exterior design and boattail, means the EV4’s hatchback body boasts an extremely low drag coefficient of just 0.23CD. The Fastback bodystyle also allows the EV4 a boot space of 490 litres. The Fastback is 300mm longer and 5mm lower than the EV4 in hatchback form, with the difference in length coming from a 300mm rear overhang needed for the swooping roofline and long-tail side profile. 400V technology achieved through Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform ensures charging stops, when necessary, are minimal hassle. The EV4 is able to charge from 10-to-80% in just 29 minutes (31 minutes for long range models)** when plugged into a 350kW DC fast charger, and in just 5 hours and 20 minutes on an 11kW AC charger (7 hours and 15 minutes for models with the long range battery). TechnologyThe Kia EV4 Fastback is equipped with a wide variety of the brand’s latest and greatest technological advancements as standard, just like its five-door counterpart. This includes Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), integrated into the dual 12.3-inch display and infotainment screens. This allows for wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, a range of on-demand features, and a smooth and refined user experience. The EV4’s displays also integrate an additional 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen, accompanied by physical rocker switches on the centre fascia to control heating and ventilation. The EV4 Fastback integrates a Kia AI Assistant, powered by ChatGPT, which has been rolled out to existing EV3 models recently. Customers can use the AI chat assistant to interact with and control the vehicle’s features directly and intuitively. The integration of generative AI also makes Kia’s voice assistant even more capable. Generative AI comprehends complex contexts through natural language understanding, enabling it to converse naturally with users. Activated by saying “Hey Kia”, the AI assistant can support travel planning, suggest stop-off points and POI information, answer FAQs regarding the owner’s manual, and can provide entertainment, such as music recommendations, voice games, jokes and trivia questions. ‘GT-Line S’ models offer premium front relaxation seats, activated via the push of a button. Ideal for catching forty winks whilst charging or when taking a break from driving, the seats recline almost flat, turning the vehicle into a living room-like space. In tandem with the relaxation seats, the EV4 and EV4 Fastback are the first models of the Kia range to offer two bespoke entertainment settings: ‘Rest mode’ and ‘Theatre mode’. Rest mode sets up the cabin for restful conditions, switching off the displays and dynamic ambient lighting, whist drivers can choose to add whatever climate controls they desire, and the front seat(s) recline to create a makeshift bed. Theatre mode makes use of the Kia entertainment packages available on the central infotainment screen. Customers can activate Theatre mode via the infotainment system, and can use apps such as Disney+, Netflix and YouTube, either when taking a break or stopping to charge. Seats automatically go to a preset posture ideal for watching videos, while the dynamic ambient lighting is dimmed, drawing the viewer’s attention to the central 12.3-inch touchscreen. Standard equipment across the EV4 line-upAs with all Kia EVs, the EV4 Fastback comes equipped as standard with a generous repertoire of exterior and interior design features, onboard tech and practicality, and active and passive safety systems. As standard, all EV4 Fastback models receive: LED headlights, DRLs, high mounted brake lights, rear lights and rear fog lights Automatic headlight control Electrically adjustable, folding and heated door mirrors with LED indicators Body coloured bumpers and gloss black window surround Rain-sensing front wipers Heated rear window and rear roof spoiler Heated front seats Heated, manually adjustable, artificial leather steering wheel Electric one-touch front windows Automatic air conditioning and defog system Start/stop button with smart entry system Three-screen dashboard layout 12.3-inch driver display 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation system Wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and free 7-years Kia Connect Bluetooth® connection 2x front USB-C ports (1x media and charging, 1x charging) 2x rear USB-C charging ports 1x 12V front power socket Six-speaker audio system eCall system and OTA functionality 60:40 split folding rear seats Centre console with underneath storage and rear centre armrest with cupholders LED…

Nissan electrifies supply chain with electric truck charging station

Images are for editorial use only. Nissan Sunderland Plant unveils £1.4m charging station for electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs). Project is a first for the UK automotive industry bringing together Nissan and haulage partners Fergusons, Yusen and BCA. Led by GRIDSERVE, the project is part of Electric Freightway, funded by the UK Government through Innovate UK. Station will Initially serve 25 electric trucks that will travel more than 2.4 million kilometres a year, saving around 1,500 tonnes of CO2 annually. Sunderland, UK – An electric truck charging station that will potentially save 1,500 tonnes of CO2 a year has gone live at Nissan Sunderland Plant. The project is a first in the UK automotive industry, establishing an electric, end-to-end supply chain that transports materials into the Nissan plant and delivers finished vehicles out. The project is the first on site private shared charging station of its kind in the UK. The £1.4m facility has seven charging stations, capable of powering up to ten eHGVs simultaneously. It complements the plant’s EV36Zero vision for sustainable manufacturing, bringing together electric vehicles, renewable energy and battery production. Michael Simpson, Vice President Supply Chain Management, Nissan AMIEO, said; “It is fantastic for our plant to be leading the charge to an electrified supply chain with this project. “We welcome the support we’ve received from our partners to bring the charging station to life and we’re proud of what we have achieved. “The charging station looks brilliant and is a big step forward in Nissan’s EV360 vision, which brings together electric vehicles. zero carbon energy and battery manufacturing.” The station will support 60 UK eHGV deliveries to the plant daily and represents just the start of the plant’s journey towards electrifying its supply chain. Michael Simpson added: “We’re exploring further opportunities to allow other hauliers to use the charging station as well as looking at other opportunities to maximise its full potential.” The charging station will support a fleet of 25 trucks with a charging capacity of up to 360kW. The trucks will collect parts from Nissan’s UK supply base stretching as far afield as Derby; as well as delivering finished vehicles to and from the Port of Tyne. That equates to more than 2.4 million kilometers travelled per year, fully electrified, saving 1,500 tonnes of CO2 annually. Bringing together Nissan, Fergusons, Yusen and BCA, the project is part of the Electric Freightway consortium that is transforming sustainable freight logistics through deployment of eHGVs and high-power charging infrastructure. Led by GRIDSERVE, Electric Freightway forms part of the Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator programme, funded by the UK Government and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK. UK Government Minister for the Future of Roads Lilian Greenwood said: “We’re working closely with the road freight sector to slash transport emissions, and our £200m zero emission HGV programme is helping businesses across the country to power the electrification of its fleets. “It’s great to see Nissan taking advantage of our scheme which is supporting high paid jobs and putting money in the pockets of working people – all part of delivering our Plan for Change.’ Daniel Kunkel, CEO, GRIDSERVE said; “The decarbonisation of transport logistics is much stronger and reaches far wider when done in partnership. “This is why, as leaders of the Electric Freightway consortium, we are so pleased to support this UK first with Nissan and their haulage partners. Depot charging is critical for the electrification of HGVs, going hand in hand with future public infrastructure developments. “As a first shared usage site, this location is leading the way in sustainable freight logistics.” # # # About Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania) Nissan AMIEO comprises Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania markets. The apex air-cooled RUF of the nineties: Broad Arrow adds exceedingly rare RUF CTR 2 Sport to Monterey Jet Center Auction

Images are for editorial use only. CTR 2 SPORT LEADS A LIST OF TODAY’S MOST COVETED MODIFIEDPORSCHE-BASED PERFORMANCE CARS SET FOR THE AUGUST 13-14 SALE GROSSE POINTE, Michigan (July 17, 2025) – Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, is thrilled to bring an exciting group of RUF Manufaktur and Porsche-based performance cars to its 2025 Monterey Jet Center Auction. The group is led by the apex air-cooled production RUF of the nineties, a 1998 RUF CTR 2 Sport (Estimate: $3,000,000 – $3,500,000). For RUF, the original CTR Yellowbird’s wild ambition was a tough act to follow, but with their CTR 2, they would surpass the predecessor in nearly every measurable way. Unveiled in 1995, the CTR 2 was the second generation of the cult-status manufacturer’s ultra-high-performance line and the first road-legal RUF model sold in the U.S. Built on the Porsche 993-generation 911 chassis, it featured a race-bred 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six engine inspired by the Group C Porsche 962. Tuned to 580 horsepower, the twin-turbocharged engine delivered 505 lb-ft of torque, propelling the car from zero-to-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and to an estimated top speed of 217 mph—the world’s fastest production car of its time. A RUF-modified six-speed manual transmission transfers the drivetrain’s immense power and torque. Add a luxurious interior, avant-garde engineering like the first-ever use of carbon disc brakes on a production road car, and design departures like RUF’s integrated roll cage and the showpiece bi-functional rear wing and that still wasn’t enough for Alois Ruf. Determined to push the envelope further, RUF developed the CTR 2 Sport, a street-legal, track-focused evolution of the standard car. Of the mere 29 CTR 2 examples produced, just 14 were CTR 2 Sports —lighter, wider, more powerful, and even more exclusive. CTR 2 Sports retained all the aerodynamic and mechanical advancements of their siblings but added an extra layer of intent. The 1998 RUF CTR 2 on offer at Broad Arrow’s Monterey Jet Center Auction, chassis no. W09BC0360WPR06007, was ordered new by the patriarch of the Beddor family, Frank Beddor. It stands apart even among its rarefied peers as one of just four CTR 2 examples specified with all-wheel drive. The car was ordered new in non-metallic Black over a black leather interior and remained with the Beddor family until 2007 when it was sold to Richard Gundeck of New Jersey. Upgrades and cosmetic repairs were carried out at the RUF factory in Pfaffenhausen, Germany after the car was involved in a mishap while in transport. This refresh included the installation of the full green leather interior that wraps nearly every surface inside the Sport today, along with Bilstein PSS10 coilovers. Offered with just 16,679 miles at the time of cataloging and a full service from RUF North America in July 2025, this sought-after supercar exemplifies the dual nature of the CTR 2 Sport: brutal speed balanced by genuine usability. “The RUF CTR 2 has quickly become one of the most sought-after supercars for today’s most active buyers,” says Alexander Weaver, Senior Car Specialist & VP of Private Sales for Broad Arrow. “It offers race-ready dynamics wrapped in grand tourer luxury—something that appeals to today’s younger collectors, along with membership into what is perhaps one of the collector car market’s most exclusive clubs. We’re excited to continue our track-record for selling the world’s most desirable RUF and modified Porsche models in Monterey, a venue where we set new benchmarks for the manufacturer just last year.” Additional RUF and modified Porsche models joining Broad Arrow’s Monterey Jet Center lineup include: 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer DLS “Dynamics and Lightweight Study” (Estimate: $2,900,000 – $3,200,000). One of only 75 DLS commissions undertaken, the “Mame Commission” represents a rare and significant piece of modern automotive art. The DLS project sought to unlock the pinnacle of performance for the 964-generation Porsche 911 by employing an uncompromising approach to lightweight engineering. The bespoke car on offer is finished in custom Fluid Silver over an exquisite interior featuring Olive Green Suede, Black bead-blasted bright trim throughout, and visible Black tint satin carbon. Beneath the surface lies Singer’s 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine developed with Williams Advanced Engineering, producing 500 horsepower. With just over 250 miles at cataloging, the Mame Commission offers the opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive and meticulously crafted Porsche 911 reimaginations from the very group that invented the genre. 2011 RUF Rt Roadster (Estimate: $900,000 – $1,200,000). This is the singular RUF Rt Roadster, a reimagination of the original 1967 911 “soft-window” Targa with a fresh, modern take that once again showcased the brand’s talent for interpreting icons ahead of the curve. Despite its rapturous reception, it was a true one-off coach build for a special customer. Based on the Rt 12 S, it is finished in bespoke Chroma Flash Hologram Matt over a Red leather interior and powered by a matching numbers twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six producing 600 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed double clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. Highly optioned and offered with just 6,907 miles from its original owner, this is an opportunity not to be missed. 1987 Porsche 911 RUF Carrera 3.4 “Goldfinger” (Estimate: $850,000 – $1,100,000). This is a spectacular U.S.-market 1987 Carrera Coupe converted by RUF in 2018. Commissioned by a private client who sought to combine the timeless lines of the 1974 3.0-liter RSR with a one-off character, Goldfinger is a turn-key masterpiece of German tuning ready to be enjoyed for its thrilling performance. Its air-cooled flat-six was enlarged to 3.4 liters, producing 270 horsepower, mated to a G50 five-speed transmission with an upgraded clutch. It features RSR-inspired bodywork finished in 991-generation Lime Gold Metallic paint over a bespoke buffalo dark brown leather and Pepita Houndstooth fabric interior. Further enhancements include an integrated roll cage (IRC), RUF-tuned dampers, and CTR-spec drilled, ventilated brakes. Exuding both presence and practicality, Goldfinger is offered with fewer than 5,000 km since its completion. Broad Arrow returns to The Monterey Jet Center in…

Hosepipe ban giving you a car care conundrum? Autoglym offers essential tips for drought-hit areas

Images are for editorial use only. Letchworth, 17 July 2025: In response to the introduction of hosepipe bans across large parts of the UK, Autoglym – the UK’s leading car care brand, has outlined 10 simple tips to help consumers keep their automotive pride and joy clean and protected while the restrictions remain in place. Four separate water authorities – Yorkshire Water, South East Water, Thames Water and Southern Water – have so far introduced bans that take effect from this month, affecting over seven million households. Anyone flouting the ban could be hit with a fine of up to £1,000. With warm conditions set to continue, more water authorities are expected to introduce their own restrictions very soon. The following tips have been devised by Autoglym’s UK-based R&D department, working closely with the company’s Technical Services Team who clean thousands of cars each year in all weathers. Top tips for hosepipe-free car care Rise and shine! Wash the car in the shade when the paintwork is cool; early mornings are ideal Use a dedicated pre-wash spray to loosen the worst of the dirt, then rinse thoroughly Wash using the two-bucket method – one filled with soapy water, one with clean water so you can rinse your mitt and avoid reapplying dirt to the car after cleaning each section Use lots of soapy water, clean one panel at a time and never scrub! Use specialist detergents if you encounter stubborn stains like tar or bird lime Rinse and repeat – wash in sections and rinse from the bottom up so you can see where the suds remain To clear soapy water from nooks and crannies, notably within the wheels, use an empty pump sprayer filled with clean water Watch out for water spotting – dry the car before the sun does by using a clean microfibre Between washes, deploy a detailing spray to avoid having to do a full clean so frequently If you don’t have time for a full hosepipe-free car wash, consider a quick clean of the glass and light units to maintain good visibility and keep the car looking presentable Apply protection to your paintwork to resist the grime, making the next clean much easier to perform Tips in detail 1. Rise and shine! Wash the car first thing in the morning, when the car is coolWherever possible, complete the full wash and protect process out of direct sunlight and ensure the surfaces are cool to the touch – mornings are often ideal. This ensures cleaning solutions have more time to attack the grime without drying out. 2. Use a dedicated pre-wash spray to loosen the worst of the dirt Hosepipes and pressure washers are great for removing the bulk of the dirt before you start the ‘contact wash’ with a mitt or sponge. However, the hosepipe ban doesn’t mean you have to skip this essential pre-wash stage. You can still apply a dedicated pre-wash spray such as Autoglym’s All-Purpose Cleaner to loosen the worst of the dirt, notably on the lower panels. Dead bugs on the front of the car and on the windscreen will be very difficult to shift through conventional washing, so use a specialist product like Autoglym’s Active Insect Remover to soften and loosen the remains. Then rinse thoroughly using a watering can, ideally with a rose fitted to spread the flow, working from the bottom up. 3. Wash using the two-bucket method – one with soapy water, one to rinse your mittOnce the car is pre-washed and well rinsed, start the contact wash using two buckets – one with the soapy water and another with clean water. Once you have washed a panel, dip your mitt or sponge in the separate bucket of clean water to rinse away the dirty suds. This ensures you don’t contaminate the soapy water and avoids you reapplying any dirt to the car – particularly important if you have to skip the pre-wash stage (tip 2). Work from the top of the car down, as the lower sections are likely to be dirtier and prolonged exposure to suds descending from the upper areas could be beneficial. Use a car-specific product, such as Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, which is low foaming so easier to rinse away. 4. Use lots of soapy water, clean one panel at a time and never scrub!Load your mitt or sponge with lots of soapy water to flood the surface at each pass, working on small sections of the car at a time. Using greater quantities of soapy water will help to loosen baked-on grit and grime; Autoglym’s Microfibre Wash Mitt is ideal for applying lots of soapy suds with each pass. Always avoid rubbing away at any stubborn dirt. Instead, do repeated passes with the soapy water, applying gentle pressure. If the dirt residues remain, revisit the area with the pre-wash spray or insect remover, which have active ingredients that help lift the grime. Tar residues which are more of a problem when the sun softens the road surface, can be easily wiped away with a dedicated product like Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover. 5. Rinse and repeat – wash in sections and rinse from the bottom upFlood the soapy surface with rinse water to prevent the suds from drying out. As it will take longer to rinse the whole car, it’s best to wash and rinse one section of the car at a time. Work from the bottom upwards, so you can more easily see where you have washed and where the rinse water is needed most. Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner is an ideal cleaning agent because it also leaves a water repellent film that makes rinsing much easier. 6. Rinse the suds from nooks and crannies using a pump sprayerWhen attending to the wheels (using a dedicated product such as Autoglym Advanced All Wheel Cleaner) and other intricate areas, it can be difficult to fully rinse the cleaning product away afterward without access to a hose, especially around the brake calliper…

As a result, Škoda has kitted out two adventure-ready Octavia vRS Estates with essential kit to create the perfect road trip companion. The two Octavia vRS Estates are now available on the Škoda UK press fleet for a summer of driving fun, with roof tents and an innovative camping box in the boot for effortless exploration. The addition of the roof tent frees up space in the Octavia vRS Estate’s 640-litre boot (1,700-litres with the rear seats down), meaning ample storage for all the getaway essentials. A boot-based EGOE ‘box’ camping unit is also fitted to one of the cars, which has been designed and built in the Czech Republic. UK dealers face ‘unprecedented multi-front threat’ from international challengers and the EV transition

Images are for editorial use only. ADS warns of a ‘once in a generation’ shock for those focusing entirely on new car sales THREATS on three fronts pose the biggest challenge to dealers in a generation, but data suggests that many may not be ready to meet it. That’s the view of data experts ADS (Automotive Data Solutions) as they reveal mounting evidence of dealer vulnerability in the face of a rapidly changing landscape. ADS identifies an unstoppable influx of Chinese automotive brands, profitability pressures from the EV transition and the arrival of more sophisticated customer retention strategies from the US as a ‘once-in-a-generation’ challenge. Business as usual will no longer be an option for many retailers, says ADS, as the market transforms and could leave many dealers unviable without a shift in mindset. Dealers who continue to focus heavily on low-margin new car sales at the expense of higher-margin aftersales activity risk falling behind, says Jon Sheard, Operations Director of ADS. ADS analyses the databases of dealers and routinely finds that fewer than one in three records on which marketing campaigns are based are accurate and up to date. The clearest evidence that many dealers are unprepared is revealed in data that shows 65% of MOT dates are listed incorrectly in dealers’ customer databases A 60% increase over the past 10 years in failure to register keeper changes Just 20% of marketing activity targets aftersales, despite it delivering the highest conversion rates. “So far, dealers have largely been sheltered from challenges from more sophisticated operators but that is changing fast,” Jon Sheard explains. “We are seeing a once-in-a-generation transformation of the market. The EV transition alone is a significant threat to dealer profitability, due to lower servicing requirements, but the tsunami of EV-focused Chinese brands entering the market will change the UK car parc beyond recognition. “And now, with US-owned dealer groups beginning to roll out American-style customer retention strategies, the gap will widen faster. These operators work from a foundation of high-quality customer data. Dealers that continue to overlook this, and carry on marketing to the wrong people, will lose ground rapidly. “This is an unprecedented multi-front threat to incumbent UK dealers,” he adds. ADS data shows that booking in a customer for a safety recall generates an average of over £300 in additional revenue, yet many dealers are unable to capitalise due to incorrect customer contact details. Meanwhile US-owned dealers are quietly adopting the American model of splitting marketing focus equally between new car and aftersales campaigns. This approach drives greater customer retention and profitability through MOT, Recall and servicing appointments, but critically, it depends on accurate customer records and clear segmentation. Jon Sheard adds: “Combine these headwinds from abroad with a domestic car parc that increasingly requires little more than new tyres, and we foresee major divergence in the fortunes between those dealers who act now and those who continue with business as usual. “We saw in the financial crisis of 2008 how quickly the landscape can shift when multiple threats converge. Dealers who fail to grasp the nettle on customer data quality and who delay implementing clear segmentation and customer retention strategies, risk being quickly left behind as market change accelerates.” ends For further information please contact: Amanda Morgan 07368 485806 amanda@autodatasolutions.co.uk ABOUT ADSADS – Auto Data Solutions – connects motor retail businesses with market and customer data that increases efficiency and boosts revenue. In April, Jameel Motors announced it had won a distribution agreement for GAC in Poland through a competitive process involving both local and international companies. This innovative joint venture will be one of the first of its kind with a Chinese automaker in the UK, a market with significant long-term potential and will be established after completion of relevant regulatory and antitrust approvals. With battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations up 25.8% year-on-year and accounting for 21.8% of new car sales (SMMT, May 2025[1]), the UK is a strong and expanding hub for EV adoption.
